Sigbjørn Bratlie and Arne B. Langleite create video pieces and installations that are thought provoking and critical in an understated humorous manner. Typical to their work is a kind of honesty and disarming directness; fictional characters that break with social expectations. They seem peculiar and misplaced whilst at the same time right where they are, confused and insecure yet stable and courageous in an intuitive way. What they do seems both neurotic and normal, both silent and loud. Issues such as the good and honest life, the notion of success, and interpersonal communication are contested by ‘antiheroes’ who are both insiders and outsiders in their society.
