'Das Lied der Deutschen… kann ich das spielen?'

['The Song of the Germans… Can I play it?’] focuses on the schizophrenic relationship Germans have with their identity. I have picked out different symbols, such as the German anthem and the Duden (Dictionary), have re-adapted them, and have cast a somewhat different light on them. In February 2007 I realised my third work, 'Drei Farben Deutsch’ ['Three Colours German’], a video-recorded performance, which is a further exploration of this thematic complex. In this work, I am using different quotes and statements focussing on last year’s events in Germany, in particular on the World Football Championship.
