Pierre Wolter

ptr_pwPierre Wolter explores the phenomenon and ritual aspects of mass events with a good sense for detail and an intuition for situations. By deconstructing the scenes, by introducing different perspectives, and by recombining the material he is able to show subtle connections and intangible mechanisms of human microcosms.

After his fine art studies at the Sir John Cass Departement of Art at the London Guildhall University (2001) and Master of Fine Art at the Central St. Martins School of Art and Design (2002) Pierre Wolter’s work has been exhibited in London and Berlin. In 2006 he opened, together with Melanie Zagrean, the gallery ART CLAIMS IMPULSE, with the aim of showing, promoting and establishing high quality video art, performance art, and multimedia installations in Berlin. Since 2006 he has been curating exhibitions and screenings at the gallery and has been working on new ways of promoting video- and performance art. Since 2008 he has been advising young video and performance artists. Pierre Wolter lives and works in Berlin.
