Maria Kling

is an artist and artistic researcher with a distinctive starting point: she treats scientific models—wave functions, quantum circuits, software architectures—not as illustrations of knowledge, but as poetic, plastic material. Rather than explaining science, she asks what it feels like to inhabit a model and lets those structures reshape how we think about bodies, relationships and futures, opening “doors into fascination” where abstraction becomes sensorial and emotionally resonant.

A core feature of her approach is that she embeds herself inside research processes instead of merely commenting on them from the outside. In long-term collaborations with physicists, software researchers and other scientists, she searches for precise “connection points” where a theory or technology touches everyday questions about uncertainty, trust, communication or distance, then grows each project from there. This gives her work a rare combination of conceptual rigor and human immediacy: quantum entanglement becomes a way of thinking about intimacy; software infrastructures turn into landscapes for collective imagination.

Her interdisciplinary background in physics, fine art, information experience design and art-entrepreneurship allows her to move fluently between analytic and intuitive modes. She speaks the language of laboratories and that of audiences, and condenses both into installations, performances and sculptures that are playful, accessible and open-ended.
