Somatic Circuits at Festival der Zukunft, Munich

Somatic Circuits premiered as an interactive art prototype at the Festival der Zukunft on Munich’s Museumsinsel, where visitors wore neuron‑inspired inflatable forms that reacted to sound and ultrasound. As participants moved together, their bodies became living interfaces, turning abstract technological circuits into a tangible, somatic experience.

The installation bridged art, science and future technology, in line with the festival’s aim to make complex innovations accessible and playful. Families, researchers and curious passers‑by co‑created the work in real time, generating shared signals and emergent patterns through their collective motion. In doing so, Somatic Circuits transformed the festival into a temporary organism – a hybrid of human bodies, responsive materials and speculative communication systems.
